Millet Awareness Road Show | Krisar Academy Event

Millet Awareness Road Show | Krisar Academy Event

In 2018, The Krisar Academy took a bold and health-conscious step to promote better eating habits within our community. We organized a vibrant Road Show on Millets and Organic Food Awareness. This inspiring event wasn’t just another school activity—it was a movement toward a healthier lifestyle and sustainable living.

The initiative was proudly launched by our visionary Chairman, Mr. K. K. Rajan, who strongly believes in shaping young minds through real-world experiences. His leadership turned a simple awareness idea into a full-fledged campaign that reached the hearts (and plates) of many.

A Road Show with a Purpose

The road show was designed to educate students and the general public about the forgotten superfoods of India: Millets. Students actively participated in the campaign, marching through the streets holding banners, distributing informative pamphlets, and chanting slogans about health and nutrition. The energy was infectious!

The primary goal was to combat the rise of lifestyle diseases by encouraging a switch to nutrient-dense foods. Students explained to onlookers how small dietary changes can lead to massive health improvements.

Why Millets? The Superfood Advantage

Through colorful placards and interactions, students highlighted the key benefits of millets:

🌾Rich in Nutrients: Packed with fiber, iron, and calcium.
💪Health Booster: Excellent for managing diabetes and improving digestion.
🌍Eco-Friendly: Requires less water and no pesticides to grow.
🍲Versatile: Can be used in dosas, porridges, and salads.

Organic Food – The Natural Way Forward

The campaign also shone a light on the benefits of organic farming. Students spoke about the dangers of chemical pesticides and the purity of goodness found in organic produce. They encouraged families to support local farmers and choose organic products whenever possible.

A Lasting Impact

Thanks to this road show, many students became ambassadors of good health in their own consumers. Parents reported that their children started asking for millet-based dishes at home! It wasn’t just about learning from books—it was about taking knowledge to the streets and making a tangible difference in society.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm and thankful to Mr. K. K. Rajan for leading the way with such a meaningful and forward-thinking initiative. Let's eat healthy, stay healthy!
